Superficial peels
Perfect for all skin types, superficial peels use a mild liquid containing gentle acids like lactic acid or a combination like the Jessner's solution. These peels offer immediate benefits, giving you a luminous complexion with minimal downtime—typically just a few days of tight, dry skin. Superficial peels address dry skin, fine lines, mild hyperpigmentation, and help control acne. For optimal results, a series of treatments is recommended.
Medium peels
Penetrating deeper into the skin, medium peels utilize Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) as the main peeling solution. These peels reach the border of the dermis, effectively removing top layers of the skin where blemishes, sunspots, and imperfections reside. The deliberate "wound" created by medium peels allows new skin to emerge. They are more effective than superficial peels in treating sun damage, melasma, and stimulating collagen for skin tightening. For your safety and optimal results, medium peels should be performed in a medical spa or physician's office. Expect downtime of 7 to 14 days, but the transformative results are well worth it!
Deep peels
Reserved exclusively for facial treatments, deep peels penetrate multiple layers of the skin and cause a second-degree burn. A chemical called phenol is typically used for these intense peels. Due to the potential for skin bleaching, deep peels are not recommended for darker skin types. Intense aftercare is required, and these peels should only be performed by licensed medical doctors. They may be used in cases of superficial skin cancer. Expect significant downtime, ranging from two to three weeks.
